Rretro Style Wedding Inspiration

What about brides rocking a retro style?

If you’re really not a traditional wedding dress kind of a girl and you’ve chosen a ballerina length or knee length frock – we’re thinking 1950s-inspired style here – then consider a shoulder length or birdcage veil.
It will balance the full skirts of your dress and give you that vintage look you’re after.

All in the detail

Wedding veils are designed in many different styles with different patterns and edging. We’ve seen veils with sequins, diamanté details, intricate embroidery as well as the simplest lengths of voile. (We’ve also seen ostrich-trimmed veils which we think would look fabulous with a Great Gatsby style wedding dress).

Mint + Turquoise Nautical Wedding Inspiration

The idea for today’s super fun styled shoot, designed by Confetti & Co. and photographed by George Weiss III, was to create a fresh take on nautical by using it as inspiration for a rad, nautical-themed bridesmaid party! The team wanted to update the expected color palette, veering away from the traditional nautical navies + blues, and instead incorporating brighter, punchier shades of mint + turquoise. They were sure to infuse the setting with lots of great maritime textures – like wood, slate + rope. And how cute is their cheeky catch phrase “whale you be my bridesmaid”?! Just love it! This shoot is sure to inspire you lovelies who are thinking of throwing a party to ask your bridesmaids to be by your side for your big day!

Modern Fall Nature Center Wedding: Molly + Zack

ampersand sign
Molly + Zack’s modern fall wedding was filled with a fun mix of rustic + geometric design elements and a pretty autumn color palette – layered neutrals with mustard + green accents. They were really able to capture the feeling of fall with fun details like white + green pumpkins scattered throughout the ceremony + reception areas, and wait until you see the super cute bridesmaid’s bouquets, created by Morning Sun. Each gal carried a different bunch of seasonal blooms + foliage – so perfect for a fall wedding! Here’s more from Molly about their wedding’s inspiration + design:
Our inspiration was the outdoor surroundings of our venue. We wanted the decor to be modern with soft accents of our natural color scheme. My mom helped with the majority of the décor because she and I are both really into design + art. I am a fine arts major, so creating stuff for the wedding was important to me. Zack + I met at a coffee shop and are coffee fanatics, so we added personal touches by incorporating coffee into the decor. I dyed coffee filters for the hanging garlands and we gave out coffee that Zack roasted as favors.
